Does the gel harden or remain soft over time?
Remains soft and flexible permanently.
The silicone does not catalyse or harden, allowing access to the connection even after years.
At what temperatures can it work?
Operating range from –40 °C to +130 °C, without alteration to the material or gel.
Is it compatible with direct current (DC)?
Yes.
The insulating gel guarantees the same performance in both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC).
What is its degree of protection?
IPX8 certificate according to EN 60529 — therefore resistant to continuous immersion in water at depths and times defined by the manufacturer, without loss of insulation.
Is it fire-retardant or self-extinguishing?
Forprene (TPV) is self-extinguishing and does not propagate flame; the silicone gel is inert and non-flammable.
