Its single-axis, single-column structure, optimised for vertical modules, ensures maximum efficiency even on steep slopes along the north-south axis.

The Conterra Tracker's motor provides high torque transmission and IP65 protection, ideal for harsh environments.
Self-powered by a dedicated photovoltaic module, it ensures a tracking accuracy of 0.1° and is designed to operate in a temperature range of -20°C to +80°C, making it reliable even in extreme environmental conditions.
The control logic, installed directly on the tracker, communicates with the ZigBee IEEE 802.15.4 protocol with the controller, which includes wind, snow and other customisable sensors.
The control logic of the Conterra Tracker enables backtracking using the geolocation of each individual tracker sail. This system optimises the position of the solar panels, improving tracking efficiency and ensuring precise alignment with the sun's position to maximise energy production.
A 3D backtracking function is also available on request; under certain layout conditions, this enables a 5–6% increase in production.
Each tracker is individually programmable for east/west limit angles (up to ±55°), average wind and gust thresholds, and backtracking parameters. The controller also supports the Modbus protocol for integration with local monitoring systems.
The Conterra Tracker's new bearings, redesigned with fewer components, offer greater mechanical strength and a smaller footprint. Made of glass-matrix polymer material, they are self-lubricating, easy to install and provide smooth rotation with minimal maintenance

Salt spray and destructive testing
Corrosion resistance tests in a salt spray mist are carried out on the motor, gearbox and structure; destructive tests on the metallic materials confirm the mechanical properties of the steels used, in support of the structural safety certified in accordance with Ministerial Decree 17/01/2018.

Certainly, the need for increasingly smart systems that are easily integrated with pre-existing monitoring installations. Conterra Tracker meets this requirement with a ZigBee mesh network (IEEE 802.15.4) between all TCUs, a Modbus protocol for integration with local SCADAs, and a web interface accessible from any device.
Trackers are not only ideal for large new plants but are also increasingly being requested by revampers of older plants. How do you read this trend? How can you make the most of it?
In our experience, we built the first generation of new-generation tracker systems for revamping projects. This is not just a passing trend, but a now well-established development. For such solutions, the possibility of having a modular system is essential, since in these cases the land footprint cannot be modified and the tracker itself must adapt as well as possible to the pre-existing system. The compensation of up to 15° by the self-aligning bearings and the installation permitted on topographical slopes of up to 10° allow the Conterra Tracker to adapt even to pre-existing layouts on non-flat terrain.
How does the sales proposition change compared to traditional assembly systems?
As an integrated hardware and software system, the tracker requires not only technical knowledge in the field of structures, but also advanced expertise in the world of software systems. Another requested feature is the ability to install systems even in non-flat areas while maintaining good production: Conterra Tracker allows assembly on slopes of up to 10° and optimises yield on complex topography thanks to optional 3D backtracking, which increases production by 5-6% in specific layout conditions.
